The Chapel is legally recognized by the Catholic Church, reason why Xcaret is one of the few places in the Mexican Caribbean to offer a ceremony with Catholic validity.

Located on the highest point of Xcaret Park since 1995, the Chapel is one of its kind. You may admire a spectacular view of the Caribbean Sea and the majesty of our Mother Nature.

The Chapel's Cross is found 36.95 meters above sea level. The St. Francis of Assisi Chapel also offers different details, such as a beautiful stone altar with a relic of St. Therese of Lisieux.

The Chapel's decoration is totally refreshing and matches its surroundings; its wooden log benches under which you may find "gourds" with small lit candles illuminating the happy couple's path to the image of Christ carved on the beautiful, cross-shaped log, next to the baptismal font, in addition to the stone image of Our Lady of Guadeloupe with the beautiful Caribbean Sea background.

The Chapel is decorated with a log that has some orchids and/or bromeliads before the altar, candles in three different sizes, as well as the environmental décor including candles and torches from the guest entrance to the Chapel. We also offer other optional details.

Requirements for the Catholic Weddings

If the couple does not reside in Playa del Carmen, they will have to make all the arrangements in the corresponding Church in their city, which will issue a letter certifying that the proceedings are in order and granting them permission to marry outside of the Parish.
